As in the New World, the Old World needs a retreat for the rich and beautiful. The Governors grew tired of being watched by commoners from their centrally located haciendas and demanded a place of their own. The Emperor gladly welcomed the idea, having long dreamed of a warm winter residence. This untouched island became a grand aristocratic retreat, lined with magnificent residences and joined by one immense, perfectly straight promenade. Here, the Emperor can stroll at leisure, free from the smells of coffee roasteries and chili factories.
